About the IELTS for Canada Immigration

Are you interested in Canada immigration? If you are, then knowing the criteria that are required to fulfill to qualify for Canada migration would become very important for you. To go for an IELTS exam, the applicants need to contact their local centre for IELTS test to find out the dates when the applicant will be able to apply for their language test and also about its cost. To appear in IELTS, you have to at first, download the application form and then after filling it completely, send it to your local IELTS centre along with your photographs, your identification certificate, and required fees.

Many immigration aspirants go for coaching classes before taking the IELTS test only to make sure that they obtain a high score. Just to get an idea about the test, you can also go for IELTS practice tests.

The IELTS test has four parts, such as: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. The whole IELTS test lasts 2.45 hours and can be completed in a single day. However, the Speaking part can be taken up to 7 days before or after the other three parts.


You will get score for each part over a Band Scale from 1 to 9. To obtain the maximum 16 points for your English language ability under the Federal Skilled Worker category, you will have to score 7.5 or higher in the Listening part and 6.5 or more in the other 3 parts.

IELTS test results are valid for two years period. IELTS results released within the period of 24 months from the date of an application submission should remain valid all through the process of the application.
